Flat Stock Springs
Flat springs are used to keep within restricted space conditions in various products such as switches and relays. Several materials are used including flat high-carbon spring steel, phosphor-bronze, beryllium-copper, stainless steel, nickel-silver, and a few others. Formulas for flat springs are based on standard beam formulas where the deflections are small-never more than 25 percent of the spring length.
